PEARL DISTRICT. This gallery represents both regional and nationally known artists and features a salon-style atmosphere. Exhibits change monthly and come from a wide variety of media, including painting, sculpture, and prints. Styles range from representational to abstract. An upstairs salon provides private viewing space under large skylights. The gallery also offers personal assistance to individuals, collectors, and corporate buyers, as well as framing, shipping and installation services.

DOWNTOWN. Located in an 1894 building downtown, this gallery boasts 10,000 square feet spanning two floors of the historic structure. It's conveniently located in the Yamhill Historic District, just two blocks from the Willamette River. Gallery owners carefully select prints and works on paper developed by nationally and internationally known artists. Regional artists are showcased as well as up-and-coming artists from across the country. The Augen Gallery opens its doors for the First Thursday Gallery Walk, held the first Thursday of each month from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

PEARL DISTRICT. Located in the Pearl Room at Powell's CIty of Books, the Basil Hallward Gallery is committed to showing experimental works by younger artists, and enjoys having fun with art in the process, many times approaching art in a somewhat cynical and amusing way. Noted writers and thinkers have been featured here, including the likes of Susan Sontag, Annie Leibovitz and former President Jimmy Carter.

PEARL DISTRICT. Focusing on contemporary artwork, this gallery cooperative is artist-owned and operated. It's been going strong for over 25 years and prides itself on the innovative and thoughtful works it carries. The artists selecting pieces regularly change exhibits and strive to appeal to a wide array of viewers. Admission is free.

PEARL DISTRICT. These two galleries work in tandem and share the same space. Blue Sky features the photography of mostly unknown and emerging artists. Nine Gallery is a cooperative, displaying works by the 10 artists who run the gallery. Established in 1975, Blue Sky is now one of the area's most noted galleries. It's a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate the public about photography. The gallery holds 24 shows per year, including works by local, national and international artists.
